Default Fan Noise.

Hey guys!

OK, I have a Gateway 4542gp. It is a nice laptop and gives me no problems.

The annoying thing is that the fan is almost always on and makes noise--even when the temperature is low.

Apparently there are no fan settings on the BIOS (according to other 4542gps' owners). I do not know what I can do to reduce the noise and/or the speed of my laptop's fan.

Are there any programs I can download to change the fan settings?

Can any one help me?

I am not sure how old that laptop is, but it could be that the fans are hardwired to run at max RPM's... wether its hardware controlled or software controlled.... I have no idea.
