external enclosure q: to fan or not to fan

looking at two enclosures for a DVD-R drive, one with fan another without.

get the FAN its not that much more and jsut in case you don't need it then jsut take it out!.. i don't know if you really need it or not but if you do go for it but hehe its like $7 more so get the FAN!lol..

You dont really need a fan with a DVD drive. It would be just fine to get one without a fan. Plus with a fan, you get more noise. My vote is for the Quick-serv

ya i jsut read the reviews... get the one without hte fan less noise which makes eveyones ears happier

true, it's only a few bucks more but the design of the fanless one matches my HD enclosure (also fanless). unless someone can come up with a good reason to go for the fan, i'll have to stick to the aluminum one. thanks
