Default EVGA 680i Motherboard

hello all,

just bought this sweet piece of gaming heaven but i have a question it has all these pictures of 3 pci-e graphics cards why three ? i know SLI splits the screen between 2 gcard's but why the third ??

So you can have 2xGPU in SLI, and have a physics card or some other expansion.

You are thinking of an Ageia Physx card, not a Physics card. There have been examples of certain boards that can use three cards: 2 in Crossfire, and a third, but being used to calculate physics, not graphics.

it is the so-called "future of gaming" but right now its a waste of $$$
and i wouldn't consider the 680i "gaming heaven" unless your going to SLI 2 high-end gfx cards

both SLi and Ageia Physx is not worth it.. SLi because you can either overclock the first card for free... or just get 1 good card instead of two cheapo ones, Ageia because.. A. Its price B. is that 8 series Nvidia cards have Quantum Physics technology built in...

the 680i isnt a bad board. you just gotta learn how to use it.
