Question Dell Deminsion 3000?

Ok, I've had this Dell for about two years now. I want to update my video and sound card becuase i'm getting a new and better monitor and better speakers to experience better things. I need to know will any video and sound card work with my computer depending on my Pentium 4 processor?

You should check your motherboard and see if you have these slots available first, since I just looked at some Dell Deminsion 3000 reviews and some say it doesn't have an AGP slot and others do.

It will probably use AGP slot for video card.
Sound card will use PCI slot.

i have that same model but i use it for web surfing only. anyway...mine doesn't have an agp slot so you cant really add a new video card. but...if you really want to, you can add a pci sound card and graphics card. as for the processor...i think it should be enough...mines a P4 2.8. but personally, i would say scrap the dell and get a new system.

The Dimension 300 has three PCI slots and a 250W PSU.

Here's a decent sound card that won't break you:

As for graphics, the top nVidia PCI on NewEgg is the JATON VIDEO-338PCI-DVI GeForce 6200 256MB 128-bit DDR PCI Low profile Video Card:

Also worth mention is the eVGA 128-P1-N309-LX GeForce FX5200 128MB 64-bit DDR PCI Low Profile Video Card:

Dell Dimension 3000 has to be pretty poor components doesn't it? I have a Dell Dimension 4600 and it's only got a 40GB HD, 2.2GHz CPU, 256MB RAM, and 5200FX video card.
