Default Crossfiring different Graphic cards types ?!

Can I Crossfire different Graphic cards types !!
I know that crossfire is only limited to ATI..
I saw this picture, and I am wondering since I have this option on my motherboard and in my Graphic card:
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4830 512MB GDDR3 100265L

Can I combine for example HD 4830 with HD 4870 GDDR5 !!

What are the crossfire limitations..
