I'm trying to get a better CPU for my motherboard but am not sure if it'll work. I'm overwhelmed with information available online. Could someone who knows please advise if it'll work for me.

BOARD: Biostar M7NCD (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 1 CNR, 2 DDR DIMM, Audio, LAN)
CHIPSET: nVIDIA nForce2 400
CURRENT CPU: AMD Athlon XP, 1666 MHz (12.5 x 133) 2000+

WANT TO BUY: AMD SEMPRON 2800+ 2.0 Ghz 333Mhz 256K CPU SOCKET A

Yes, it will work.

Your motherboard can use up to a 400 MHz FSB, which is the maximum for socket A's (3200+).

Your board also uses DDR400 RAM, which is a good thing. Bump your RAM up to a gig (unless you already have) and you ought to be in good shape.
