Hi, I have a question I have heard that an AMD cpu is better than an intel, but when I look at the CPU's I don't know what to get, (because I am used to intel) and when I looked on tigerdirect.com (my preffered site) I saw a AMD cpu 939 single-core 2.0 ghz for $200. Is'nt anything below 3.0 ghz crap. I am building this computer mainly for games. I just don't get AMD is it supposed to be good?

AMD chips run "slower" than some of the P4's, but they are more efficient per clock cycle. For example, an AMD 64 3700+ @ 2.2GHz will perform roughly the same as a 3.7GHz P4 (but it actually is better). The number after the AMD 64 tells you the pentium equivalent of it. ie: 3700 AMD=3.7Ghz P4, etc.
