Your friend is a moron. Ghz do not mean a thing. That 3800+ will compete with a pentium 4 running at 3.8ghz. AMD uses GHZ more efficiently.

Motherboards:

MSI K8N Neo4

or

DFi Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D

The one who says it is the ultimate proc is closer to the mark than the one who judged it by its clockspeed. It is not the "ultimate" proc, because there are ones better than it, but it is still very nice.

This is a good S939 mobo:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136152

BTW, why are you using TigerDirect?

EDIT:

Because the AMD is more efficent per cycle than Intel. Operating frequencies no longer mean anything; the megahertz wars are over.

Like I said, AMD uses ghz more efficiently per clock cycle. I don't feel like getting into the technical parts of it so search Tech-forums about it or wait till someone else responds. There are tons of information on these boards!

Also it shows you what you are getting tells you more about the item than newegg and my friend told me not to shop at newegg because they rip you off ( the one who judged the clock speed)

Unless the monetary system has reversed, no, they're not...

EDIT: Newegg is a big company. Someone is going to have a bad experience with them.

And are you still listening to the friend who told you the X2 sucked?
