Hey, i dont know much about CPU's, but which of these two, would be the better?

Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.93Ghz

or

Sempron (P) 3200+ 1.8 GHz

I wouldn't go with either for a low-end build sub$700 get an amdx2 and for highr end builds a C2D build best performance/price

Obviously you should become more flexible, not only to the options above.

1 kilogram or 2 of the same variety of apples/ or whatever costs the double price of the other?

In this case, the Pentium 4 would slightly edge out the Sempron 3200+ in most tasks.
In gaming, the Sempron would probably do a better job, though.

I used to run on a Sempron 2800+, and they are pretty good chips. (I upgraded to an X2 4600+)

Ive already got both of these CPU's from a couple older computers, and im building a new computer from their old parts..

So the Pentium 4 would be better?

They are very close. It's really a toss up to what you like.

In all-round performance, it would be.

Though if it were me, I'd get the Sempron, for gaming.

^ Sort of, at least for gaming. Thats why the Athlon 64s were so popular back then.
