Default Couple upgrading questions.

Okay, so I've come across a bit of cash. Gonna' upgrade over the following weeks.

I'm sticking with the Socket478 factor (Wanna keep using DDR and my AGP card), but upgrading both the mobo and CPU. Basically just upgrading the mobo so it supports 800MHz FSB instead of 400, 8xAGP instead of 4x.

So in my price range, I can go with a 3.06GHZ Celeron D (Which I will probably overclock), or a 2.6 GHZ Pentium 4. Which is the better choice?

I don't want to go with AMD, please don't suggest it.

PS: What's the P4 equivalent of a 1.8GHz Celeron, aroundabouts? 1.5?

While the Celeron has very high GHz, it's crippled because of the cache and FSB.

Every Pentium 4 has 512kb-1MB of cache, and 800Mhz FSB.

Also, Pentium 4's basically load faster. I've used some old P4's that run much faster than my system.

Check this out for more information:
