Out of the two processors you listed, the AMD setup should be better. But a Core 2 Duo could beat both. Everything else should be fine and I see no reason to change those things.

Instead of the processor/motherboard combination you picked, pick up a Core 2 Duo and a compliant motherboard, it'll blow the socks off of both of the configurations you chose.

Also the NZXT Zero looks cool. It comes with 8 fans! A bit more pricey though, than the apollo.

I like the Xion Solaris case. I basically fell in love with it the first time I saw it almost a year ago. Its beautiful. The Intel mobo supports the Core 2 so its good. All that would be changed is the processor. Let me ask you two things. Do you recommend a different motherboard? Would you recommend the Core 2 Extreme Edition at 2.93 Ghz (tagged at 1300.00) or a Core 2 at 1.8 Ghz (tagged at 2500.00), like do you know what the difference is?

I would get either the e6600 or the e6700, I would also look into the Gigabyte DS3 or the ASUS P5B models.

For motherboards I would prefer to stick with either Intel (for Intel Processors) or Asus (for AMD processors) since they are well known companies and they are the best.
