Default Changing mobos...

I was thinking of changing my mobo. I can't use the reformatting software that came with my computer originally? My comp is from sony.
I just wanted to get a mobo to get up to date like USB 2.0 and AGP8x.

Make sure to start with that the Sony uses ATX or mATX and that it has a removable faceplate so that you won't be sawing parts of the case to make it work.

You should be able to use the reformatting software that came with your computer, it's just easier to let Windows do it for you.

Why do you want to upgrade your system? Honestly, just looking at it I don't think you should put any money into that system.

I just want to know if I can change the mobo without reinstalling windows but only using the reformatting software. Besides it's only $44. It will be years before I can build my first real computer.
