Default Buying/Choosing a PC

Hello everyone, I have decided I need a new PC, I'll mainly be using it for internet browsing, work, light gaming (ms flight sim, combat sim etc) and photo editing.

Can anyone suggest a typical set up?
I am swayed to the intel chips and was wondering if the E6400 or E6600 would be suited?

Also with the new windows vista, would this pose any problems with playing any games, i.e compatability? This PC is not intended to be an 'all out games machine' as i'm more than happy with my xbox 360 but I would like it to handle the above mentioned games well.

Thanks in advance

Do you want to build yourself, I suggest taking that route.
