Building a New Computer System

Hey guys, Im about to start purchasing parts for my first build. However I would like to know if these parts are good or if there are better parts available for similar prices. Also if the parts I am buying are compatible with each other and if I am missing any parts.

about $1500 Canadian including a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. Dont need an OS though

Your graphics card (ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB) is an AGP slot version while your mobo can use PCi-e x16. You definitely want to go with the PCi-e

Take this mobo instead of the ASUS: Gigabyte P35 DS3R

I'd recommend getting some better ram too. 2gb ideally. I'd go with Crucial Ballistix, but any good brand, non value RAM should suffice (Corsair, OCZ, Geil, G. Skill, etc) if you can afford.

Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB 16MB Cache
Optical Drive - LiteOn SH-16A7S DVD Burner
Monitor - LG L204WTX 20" / 5ms / 2000:1 / 1680 x 1050
Speakers - Logitech X-230 2.1 Speaker System

Just pick a keyboard and mouse, to your liking. You can also pick your choice of speakers, but I just suggested the X-230s, because I heard it's worth every penny, and is very good for the money. You can also pick your own case, as it's a personal preference really...but I just suggested the Antec 900, because it's a great case for the money.

Also any reason you chose the E6550 instead of the E6750 since the price difference is under $10?

And is the Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 XT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphic Card better then the Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphic Card?

The processor should come with its own heatsink and cheap bit of thermal paste unless its oem.

If you want the E6750, go for it.

The X1950XT is much much more powerful, than the X1950PRO. It's not about the memory size. The X1950XT has 48 pixel shaders, compared to the PRO's 36. And pixel shaders or pipelines, directly relate to a graphic card's performance.
