Default DO THESE PARTS WORK TOGETHER?

Hi,

I am trying to build my first computer, with the added caviat that I know little to nothing about the inner workings, but I figure now is as good a time as any to learn. Ive been doing research and these are the parts i have picked out mostly from geek.com. let me know if they work/not compatible etc... I tried to keep it cheap so that if i mess up its not too big a loss

MSI G31TM-P21 iG31 Socket 775 mATX Motherboard w/Video, 8-Channel HD Audio 1 54.48
Kingston*2 GB DDR2 RAM PC2-5300 240-Pin DIMM 1 51.5
Hitachi Deskstar 7K80 80 GB SATA/300 7200 RPM 8 MB Hard Drive 1 23.99
Chenri CR101 Socket 775 Aluminum Heat Sink & Fan to 3.4GHz 1 6.5
Digicool Radeon HD2400 PRO 256 MB DDR2 PCI Express Video Card 1 24.99
9-Bay 937PK-BLACK mATX Steel Computer Case with 420W Power Supply 1 27.99

I forgot to add that I have an external DVD drive that I was planning to use instead of an internal one, since I have it but never use it for my netbook

if youre going to start a build from scratch, dont get a p4, even if it is just a cheap rig.

if you can spring around an extra $15 + shipping, i would go with this rig instead. totals $247.
