| Best site for a used computer under $100? Other then ebay (keeping an eye on them already), is anyone aware of a good location to purchase a used computer for $100.00 or less?
Not looking for much for this price.
What do you think someone could get for $100 or less?
Thanks |

| Re: Best site for a used computer under $100? I'm not an expert, but I would think that if you bought a computer for less than $100, it's a good bet nothing works. The best you could hope for is being able to reuse the case and that would be about it. |

| Re: Best site for a used computer under $100? For under $100?...you can expect a piece of junk computer, that would have a problem, even with general usage. Save up man. You can build a new computer for $300-400. |

| Re: Best site for a used computer under $100? Yeah unfortunately its like asking, what kind of car can i get for $400?
And im sure you know the answer... Even for just general usage it will probably be more effort than its worth. A new PC can be very cheap and is guaranteed to actually work.

| The current computer I am using is over six years ago, 866MZ Pentium III, 30GB had 128MB Ram now 512MB Ram, so I really am not thinking I would get much for under $100. |

| Re: Best site for a used computer under $100? Craigslist.org if your in an area they've got a setup for is great for old pcs.
You can get a pc for $100, just don't expect a lot of power. Put Puppy Linux on it or DSL, though, and you've got a **** usable pc.
Or you could build something cheap Comes to right at $90 before shipping. I'd estimate $110 after or shipping, maybe? P4 1.4ghz. Not a powerful pc by any means, but for just browsing the web? Put Xubuntu on it and you'll be fine.

| Re: Best site for a used computer under $100? Brinson... the HDD you listed is a SCSI drive, won't work without a SCSI add-in card....
Tisoraku, what is it you are trying to improve on your computer? What do you use it for? Gaming? listening to music? surfing the web? more hard drive space? |

| Re: Best site for a used computer under $100? Bah, Pricewatch misindexes parts so often it annoys me.
$4 more, 3 times the storage: eBay: Quantum IDE Disk Drive, 15GB, 5400RPM, 512K Cache (item 180136033146 end time Jul-09-07 16:27:33 PDT)
Of course you won't build a powerful or gaming machine for $100. But if all you do is browse/email/word process...you can build that kind of machine for around $100, still lower-end, though.
I would, however, RECCOMEND, kicking it up to about $200 and spending $90 on a sempron/celeron cpu/mb, $50 on a big HD, $25 for the case/psu combo I posted and $30 for a 512mb kit of ram.
