Question Best book to get a basic info

This is my first post. I am starting to develop a lot of interest in the field of computer technology and I would like to get basic info about computer hardware. Is there any suggestion for good books to get started. My knowledge level is very basic.

for general knowledge try magazines like pc today , extreme tech and others ...
read these for couple of months then try reading a more spesific books ..
