Default ATI X-series

I don't know much about these new technology but want to know what I would be better off with. The new ATI X-Series just came out I believe. Does it compete with the nVidia 7800 GTX or does nVidia still hold power over ATI? I want to know which one will allow me to play BF2 on high settings without bad gameplay.

Do you mean cards like ATI X1800 XT/XL? The X series has been around, it's just the X1xxx series that has recently come out.

If i remember correctly, X1800XT > 7800GTX > X1800XL. I may have XL and XT backwards, though.

yes the 7800GTX 512mb will kill the X1800 series....but if you are thinking of the 256mb 7800GTX then the X1800XT will be the better one

There are some "crossfire" boards out there, but you need a "crossfire" enabled card to do it.

Crossfire is ATI's version of SLI...
