Default Advice on Build Quest

Hi people, new here, novice seeking wise advice from you pros.
Need to put a new system together. Not a gammer. I mainly surf for
knowledge, burn cd's, and work with photos.

Here's the problem. My 'only' internet access is dial-up (I'm living/loving rural) reaching blazing speeds up to 22Kbps

What setup would work best for me?

Plz, no moving company links.

what is your current pc setup like? i would suggest something similar to what i just built for my grandfather:

maybe a sempron 2800+ or 3000+ (i used 3000+)
s754 motherboard (i used an Asus K8V-MX)
256mb-512mb of generic pc3200 ram (i used 512mb)
a cheap dvd-rw drive (i used a model from Sony)
a case that includes a power supply at least 300w
56k pci modem card.

if you already have a monitor you could re-use that as well as keyboard or mouse.

That rig nitestick put together looks good enough for your needs. I would recommend 512 MB of memory.
