| Re: $900 build suggestion We had a compaq laptop but it broke for good so we're getting a new desktop. There are 4 people in my family so it is very convenient to have 2 computers.

| Re: $900 build suggestion oh srry... I guess I should have specified... the monitor is 1024X768, and I'd like Intel and Nvidia.

| Re: $900 build suggestion i agree with puddle
but if u dont need 640GB u can go with 500GB/320GG/250GB
GPU: 4850 best bang for the buck and will beat the most of the cards including the 8800GTS/9800GTX
u can save some money on the PSU Newegg.com - Antec True Power Trio TP3-550 550W ATX12V Power Supply with Three 12V Rails 100 - 240 V UL, CUL, FCC, TÜV, CE, C-tick, CCC, CB - Power Supplies Newegg.com - Rosewill RP500-2 ATX12V v2.01 500W Power Supply 115/230 V CSA, UL, TUV, FCC - Power Supplies http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182017 Newegg.com - Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory
if u want a cheaper cpu u can go with e7200 or e2180

But since you like nVidia + Intel, consider the 9800gtx+ | Since his monitor is 1024x768 a 8800gt should have no problem maxing out any game except crysis. |
