Hi guys

I decided to hold off untill after Christmas to build a pc.

Best buy has a ATI X850pro (AGP) on sale for 229.99

I want to put it in my emachine. It says it needs a 350 watt PSU but I only have a 300 watt PSU. I am getting a new case with a 480 watt PSU for Christmas but, I want to put the X850pro in my emachine today!!

Can it be done????

nope youd have to installall a more powerful PSU with more watts. If your going to build a pc after christmas just build it after christmas with the new video card. Also if you put that powerful of a videocard in that emachine its gonna choke the processor (probably)

I want to have 2 computers because I don't like to share But I will still have to use the emachine when someone is already on the new computer:mad: So I want better graphics on the emachine

What do you meen when you say choke the prossesor? Will it still be a good improvment over my 9600?

it might work, as i used a 200W power supply on my 9800pro when it said only 250W.

but i heard the X8** series are power hogs

choke=bottleneck=losing performance because something is lagging it behind. The team goes as fast as the slowest player, kind of like computers
