Question 24 pin mobo, 20 pin PS

Is it ok to temporarily use a 20 pin power supply connector on a 24 pin motherboard? I plan on getting an adapter very soon but I want to fire my new CPU up. I'm upgrading from a Celeron 800mhz (old school), to a Sempron 2800+ with Nforce 4 motherboard & PCI-e. The PS is a brand new 500W Aspire, I'm not planning on using the 200w POS that I currently use.
Any comments are welcome.

Yea, you can run it for a little while, though you definitly need to use the 4 pin box connector, and get the adapter ASAP
