Default 1st system build - help please
Hey all. I want to start my first system build in the next week or so. Since I'm such a n00b I wanted to run the components list past people who know what they're doing before I start buying because I might have this all messed up. If anyone has the time to review, troubleshoot and/or offer suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

I don't do any major gaming or graphics work so I don't need a high end processor or video card. I will mostly use the system for lower end games, internet (still on dialup for another year ugh), TV/stereo/DVDs, amateur digital photography, and MS Office stuff. This setup is about $1500 and I don't want to spend any more than that. Thanks!

Looks good, except the mobo. ASUS is notorious for making good Intel boards, yet bad AMD boards. Look into MSI or DFI.

Hmm...it's OK, but it doesn't have any PCI-E slots, so it isn't exactly futureproof video card (and some other cards later on down the road) wise.

On macdude's rec to change my mobo, I did some more looking around last night. I'm now thinking of this mobo and one of these video cards instead of what I listed above. Anyone have any feedback, advice?

Mobo looks good, and Leadtek (and eVGA) owns Gigabyte in the making of nVidia cards, so go with that one.
