Default 19" LCDs

Looking to replace an old CRT. No games, just need something for surfing and word processing.

Is this a decent one for the price?

Yeah that's good for it's price. Response time is 8ms, but I'm guessing that's fine.

Why not a widescreen?
Newegg.com - Hanns·G HW-191APB Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built in Speakers - Retail
....specs are a bit better, as well. Same price.

as b1gapl said, go with the widescreen. I have a hanns.G 19inch widescreen and i adore it.. I also do gaming and it has been great for that as well. Although i do like the optional DVI.

What's wrong with either a DVI or D-sub port? I mean, if it plugs in and the picture gets to the monitor then it's fine. Just use a D-sub Adapter.

You probably won't notice the difference between DVI and VGA. DVI is not significantly better than VGA's quality.

But if you want one with a DVI port then:

Probably not but why convert something if you can prevent it now?

I saw that, I was asking doesn't it makes sense to buy the right thing the first time?

Is there a difference between the brands in terms of quality?
