Thank you so much for your help. It's sometimes hard to believe how much I rely on my computer anymore, until something like this happens and I find myself without it.
Sorry to bother you again. When I run those two programs should I still do the msconfig thing first and disable everything? I started to do this already but I don't see the antivirus line in there to check off to enable. Also when I'm done is it just a matter of going back into msconfig and re-enabling them? Will the computer still work properly without at least some of these things running?
I apologize if these are dumb questions.
