When I play online games I randomly lag. Other players in the server notice it and I usually get kicked because they can not hit me. This mostly happens in CS:S but it also happens in TF2, COD4, Quake3, Tribes. It also happens in vent and skype.

The problem started happening right after I upgraded my service through comcast to be faster. But this weird problem started to happen.

I turned off all programs, and made sure nothing was running when playing like firefox or something.
I unplugged my router and hooked my modem right into the computer.
I called Comcast and asked them to check it out and they said it was fine.

I followed your virus spy ware removal guide and removed at least 3-4 viruses. I hope it was that and it fixes the problem. I've been playing cs:s while scanning for viruses all day (thorough scan with avast takes a long time.. I have nearly a TB of stuff to search through) and the lag problem has not happened at all... but the lag problem comes and goes at random.

I was going to start a thread about it... but hopefully it was a virus of some sort and the problem is gone. I will start one if it comes up again.... if you have any suggestions let me know.
