| You should remove Logitech Desktop Messenger it's not needed. It seems to be "corrupted".. Logitech SetPoint contains the drivers for your mouse and keyboard, so keep that one. And you'll need to fix up your winsock LSP's - |MG| Free Download - XP TCP/IP Repair 1.0 |

It's going pretty bad. I restarted my computer and it gave me an error message. "windows cannot start because windows/system32/config is corrupt or missing" I have been searching online for a solution but nothing seems to be working. I have used the original windows disk and ran a chkdsk /r and it said that it fixed one or more problems but windows still doesnt start and gives me the same error message about system32.

I found a tutorial on how to repair this but it doesnt seem to work. Here is what is says to do: After you enter your password (or simply press enter) you should be at a prompt that reads "C:/windows". Type the commands below to navigate to your Windows/System32/Config directory and replace the appropriate file: 1. cd system32 2. cd config 3. ren system system.old 4. cd .. (note the space after cd it is important) 5. cd .. (note the space after cd it is important) 6. cd repair 7. copy system c:\windows\system32\config I got as far as #3 and it says this cant be found? This is how it is for all fixes I find, I get two steps then cant get any farther

This is another repair I found online, I got past "md tmp" , I never got to the "copy...." part. When I'd enter the "copy..." prompt it would say it's not cognized or not found or something. md tmp copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\tmp\software.bak copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\tmp\sam.bak copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak copy c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\tmp\default.bak delete c:\windows\system32\config\system delete c:\windows\system32\config\software delete c:\windows\system32\config\sam delete c:\windows\system32\config\security delete c:\windows\system32\config\default copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system copy c:\windows\repair\software c:\windows\system32\config\software copy c:\windows\repair\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam copy c:\windows\repair\security c:\windows\system32\config\security copy c:\windows\repair\default c:\windows\system32\config\default

I tried some more of those fixes but nothing seemed to be working. So I figured the best thing to do was to reformat my hard drive (again) and install windows xp again. So I am back at square one (again).
