Exclamation My Dell computer is infected

I really need help. My computer is infected with something. I had a pop up window with gs_agent/dsc.exe and have been trying to fix this for hours. I am unable to get into anything on my desktop and my system restore is not working. All files seem to be corrupted and not opening. I can view pictures and some data but cannot save them to a disk. Here is my hijack this log:

Default Re: My Dell computer is infected

Your best option at this point is going to be going thru our Spyware Guide.

Osiris Spyware Guide

Get the one for XP and go thru it from top to bottom. Post up the Malwarebytes, Combofix and a new HiJack This log after you go through the guide.

At this point you have so much that needs to be removed that this will be more effective to get some progress done.

Thank you for the information. I am making progress. I have been working on it all day. I cannot connect to the internet from the infected computer so I have to use a laptop and jumpdrive to download all the files.

The problem I am having now is: Smitfraud and Combofix will not open or run on my computer. These are the only ones not working so far.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Finish the rest of the guide first and then come back to those two if they don't work.

You should try Safe Mode for those.

Default Re: My Dell computer is infected

I have completed all the steps that I could. I went back and Smitfraud Fix and Combo Fix still not work. I tried these in safe mode and normal mode. I also tried to install AVG 8.5 Free in both modes and it won't install. The error says: Installation Failed! 1 error occurred. In the details section it says: Local machine: installation failed Error: Action failed for registry key HKLM/Software/Microsoft Error 0x80070005.

What's next?

Also, I am unable to connect to the internet. In the virus, it somehow disabled my printer and internet access.

Once again, I am extremely grateful for all the help you are giving me. I will recommend your site highly to everyone I know.

Thank you!

Try downloading and installing Avast! antivirus; its a free one similar to AVG.

I have done everything except Combofix and Smitfraud. Is my computer ok without running those programs?

So how do I know my computer is safe? Is there anything besides Avast that I need to keep on my computer? How do I protect myself?

Thank you!
