I have been increasingly having more problems with my computer.
I thought that it was like a virus or spyware or something like that, so for the past few days ive constantly been scanning and going into safe mode and scanning more, using NUMBEROUS programs.
Heres the continued issue.
First off, i keep getting pop-ups, and they all seem the same, most of them clean companies, but a few porn pop-ups in there, and its usually only if i click a link on a web page. And its not the web page, because it does it when im searching google, and even on this site it happened.
Second, Explorer.exe keeps shutting off on me. Sometimes it will just go away and then come back in like 10 seconds, but sometimes it will just stay off, and when i checked in the processes, it was gone. Again, ive checked time and time again for viruses or anything but nothing is coming up.
Third, all of a sudden on p2p software, it will shut off my internet, and that just started recently.
Fourth, ive got a program in the processes called "gupkhtpo.exe", and it seemed a little fishy, so i tried to end the process, but everytime i do so, it just comes RIGHT back in a different location in the processes list. I tried googling it and nothing showed up.
Question,
A, I've got my internet hooked up to about 2 other computer, sharing a router, and i have not touched those computers. Is it possible that one of those computers has a virus and or spyware and is transmitting it through the router into my computer and causing the internet to go slow(because it is going quite a bit slower than usual).
B, My computer is pretty updated(Pentium D 2.8Ghz Processer, New motherboard, 1 GB ram), accept my HD, its about 4 years old and is only 80 GB, do you think it could be going bad therefore acting funny?
