| Hey All, I have got some kind of virus/spyware that is causing havoc(andt.sys, nd2t.sys keep crashing). It will play very wierd sounds once in a while that go on for roughly 20 seconds. Its is very intermittent. I seen a few posts on this and have gone through the Spyware Removal Guide. This seemed to work all good without experiencing any issues at all afterwards, until again today!!! The only program I really ran was Media Center to watch some TV on it. I read some where that this virus/spyware can affect the "eshell.exe"(i think that's it) file that Media Center uses. Coincidence? Anyways, attached are my log files of HiJack This after I installed and ran all programs as instructed in the Guide, and one log after the "andts'sys" process failed again. I appreciate any help. Thanks oobern |

| Hey Osiris, I did actually go through the guide from start to finish on Feb 27(Wednesday). Those programs seemed to work fine as they all removed roughly 300 spyware/viruses..after running everything in safe mode it. These all seemed to be issues that adaware, registry booster, macafee couldn't pick up... Everything seemed to work be removed and working fine until yesterday.. Any other suggestions? as i went thourgh guide already? or are you seeing lots of garbage in the log files which makes you think I missed something? I don't think anything was missed, but I can try again? Thanks in advance oobern PS - not sure if media center is affected at all now, cause I used it again last night, but it didn't crash |

I think it would be safe to remove the Symantec entires, but I don't want to completely ruin anything.... Any other suggestions?? | What I need you to do is is scan with hijackthis, open the task manager, kill perfs.exe and then quickly remove O23 - Service: perfmons Service (perfmons) - Unknown owner - C:\Windows\system32\perfs.exe then rescan your system and post a new log |

| I ran the scan and deleted perfs.exe from task manager, then re-ran the scan as instructed. See below for new log file...This however did not get rid of the entry for perfs.exe in the HiJackThis log..It just popped back up, but it is not in task manager anymore..
