You found a virus, so fix it. Your antivirus fixes it right? If not, give AVG a shot.

The anti virus says it has deleted the virus but the message keeps popping up. Each time the message pops up, it forces my internet browsers to close

Oh, then download Mozilla Firefox and never have to worry about it again. Trust me, it's so much better.

but..

after a bit of experimenting i have found the virus pops up whenever i use any program that connects to the internet except mozilla fire fox.

it seems that my virus scanner thinks the virus is gone but it is actually still there.

Oh I'm sorry, this is worse than I thought. I just thought it was some advertisement bullcrap but...
* Allows others to access the computer
* Downloads code from the internet
* Installs itself in the Registry

It doesn't tell me how to remove it manually, so I guess you just have to find the right virus remover.

oh well

do you have any suggestions?
I've tried AVG virus scanner but it hasn't changed anything.

Also, the virus scanner says the virus is actually a Trojan. Does that change anything?

Trojans are bad, real bad. They allow other people to take over your computer. I don't have any suggestions really, I only use AVG, Windows isn't for my important stuff, I don't have to deal with it.
