What problems are you having with the machine .. you log is clean?

Someone was using my computer and updated AOL AIM. It installed a toolbar and everytime I punch in a web address (minus the dot com) in firefox it goes to an AOL search page. It used to go right to that address. I deleted the AOL search in the upper right hand corner of my browser but it still does that. I even uninstalled everything AOL on my computer. I checked the settings and can't figure out what it changed.

That's not an infection That's AOL being the annoying program that it is. Trust me, I had the same exact problem and posted my question in a support forum.

They gave me a bad answer but I figured it out on my own. You have to change it somewhere in "about:config" and change it to this value:

"Google"

If you have not worked with advanced Firefox panel before, goto your address bar and type in: "about:config". After doing so type in something like, "browser.search" and some values will come up. If you find anything with AOL and search together, change it to the above Google line to change it to default Google searching.
