Can you help? HJT log attached...

Hi there. I'm new here and hope that someone can help me. For the past several days I am getting several popups & redirects. I

also have encountered the following error message quite a bit
"Buffer overrun detected! Program C:\Program Files\Internet

Explorer\Iexplore.exe" when this happens I lose my toolbar and sometimes

I will lose all of the icons on my desktop. I have found things adding themselves to my startup and my IE add ons. Everytime I take them off, they manage to put themselves back in. Tried to go into System 32 to delete ddayx.dll gebcaaw.dll gomrqxc.dll as well as a few others. It will not let me delete, says Access Denied, make sure disk is not full or write ptotected and not currently in use yada yada. Also, there have been

instances when I have nothing on desktop & no toolbar after start up or

restart. I saw Virtumonde and several others. I have run Adaware and Spybot more times than I can count, both in safe mode as well as regular. Everytime I run it it finds something but

even after quarantine and deletion it is back the next time.

I have read and dowloaded Osiris Guide and am working on that now. I will post my HJT log and hope that someone can help me and also tell me how to remove the items (if needed). *fingers crossed*

It was before. I am nearly finished with your tutorial. I just ran cleanup. Things seemed to be going fine then the avg threat window starting coming up again. *sigh* I will run another HJT as soon as I am finished and will post it here. Thanks so much. Your guide is like a bible. :o

Okay I finished following your tutorial step by step. Attached is a HJT log after all cleanup. I tried "fixing" the waxpnofk.dll",s but when I ran HJT again, it was still there. I noticed a lot of Virtumonda items that were removed in the process of the guide. Most of the threats are from IE temp files. I also noticed that I have gone and disabled IE add ons, and everytime I restart and check again, it re enables itself. Same thing with the startup. I'm hoping the MSconfig utility solved that problem. I notice all internet sites with banners are being changed to spyware banners IE "Your pc is infected click here yada yada" and some have been raunchy mpeg type ads. I'm lost. I can't get rid of this thing for the life of me. My main concern is stealing my passwords or financial info. I have been careful not to do any business while infected but I'm going to have to pay my bills sometime. I'm hoping that I will be able to do that again at some point. I'm somewhat pc smart and have never had such a problem before. I DO know how this happened as someone was on a crack site on my pc recently. I think it was a warez site. =(

besides that which you can delete by selecting in Hijackthis to delete at startup i don't see anything else thats bad

These are questionable but i would wait for osiris to confirm.

Thanks so much to the both of you for your help. HJT will NOT delete the waxpnofk.dll even after reboot. =( Any other ideas on how to get rid of it?

I still have a virus and some malware of some sort as any and all internet ads are immediately changed to spyware ads if that makes any sense. Apart from that I can barely get onto the internet without IE "hanging" or freezing up on me. Grrrrrrr. I'd be grateful to anyone willing to lend me a hand with this. I have yahoo messenger as well if that's any help. Same name.

Hey thanks for asking. I did the whole combofix thing and it didn't work. It was pretty nasty. I eventually tried running the AVG Spyware Protection in safe mode, then the msconfig utility, and then the trojan remover. All from your tutorial. After I did that I was able to go into the System32 folder in safe mode and delete the 5 files that were suspicious. I restarted and haven't had a problem since. Thanks for all of your help and expertise!
