ringtone help

Yeah I just got a Motorola slvr l7 and ive been trying to get a ringtone on it all day. Like downloading one of the net and putting it on and nothing works and I have no idea what im doing. So I did go on the internet on my phone and buy one for 2 bucks and its no where to be found on my phone... any help
