Problems with connecting mobile

Hey. I have a Sony Ericsson K700i mobile, and recently brought a USB Data Cable to connect it to my computer. I've installed all the software and drivers. But when i go onto "My Phones" , enter Phone Memory, and try to enter Pictures of Videos i get an error saying "An unexpected error has occured", it then sometimes completely rejects that my phone is connected to the computer, and says "Not Connected" on My Phones. Also when using Image Editor, i go to add pictures from my computer and it says the file coulnd'nt be sent, and again sometimes says no phone is connected.

Any ideas anyone?
