Default Is my iPod dieing?

When I plug my iPod into my PC it does not show up and it does the same when I put it in my MacBook, however when I connect it to a machine running ubuntu it works and I can play music off of it. When I was using my macbook earlier today it said my iPod was corrupt and I needed to reformat it, would that be the issue? And If I do reformat it will I lose all my music and videos?

Default Re: Is my iPod dieing?

yes you'll lose your videos and music, what i would try first is uninstalling itunes from the mac an pc and trying it again with the latest version.
