Works 100%...I've made loads of ringtones using this method.

i just whent threw this predicament. i ended with a 3g 8gb wanted the 3g 16gb but it was sold out. i couldn't not justify another 100$ for the features the 3gs has. i might pick up a second phone and give my current to my mother. but again i will probably go for the 16gb 3g.
also note the upgrade to the 3.0 os for iphone is free. it adds all the software features that the 3gs has like copy and paste/mms and much more. so the 100$ is 200mhz faster cpu, and 1.2 mp more on your camera...

you also have video on the 3GS...but you can do like I did and jailbreak your 3G and have video on it.

The video quality is good too! Here is a clip I recorded using Cycorder (app you can get after jailbreaking it). It's atually even better then what you see here. This is a .avi format that I had to convert from .mov

However with the bigger icons, I can do this a lot faster than was I can do it on a windows mobile.
And the other thing that I do like it that iPhone will give you a notification for when the device is paired. Unlike windows mobile with doesn't, and it's not until you try making / receiving a phone call while driving that you find out that your device is not paired at all.

Another reason jailbreaking makes your phone a little more user friendly. You can download "Boss Prefs" and it has a Blue Tooth quick button, or even better, there is another one that can do the same thing even easier. The other app I believe is called "SBSettings". With this app you can be any where on your springboard and using two fingers you "pull down" from where the clock and battery area is. This will pull down a quick menu that you can turn on/off many functions of the phone.

Jailbreak FTW

Edit: Mods sorry for double, you can merge. Thanks

Yes Real Racing is greatness! I'm a big racing fan and that is the best racing game on there.

Would you lose your warranty on the phone? You can always restore back to default so not sure if you would even lose the warranty. Enjoy it!

The 3GS is supposed to have tethering, but it says not available in the US or Canada. Any idea when this will be enabled? That's one of my main attractions to this phone, and now I find out I can't use it. Bummer!

There is a app for the tethering that is not from AT&T or apple, it doesn't even need to be jailbrken either, and works great too, I'll try and post a link when I get to my pc. Since I'm writing this with my iPhone

I noticed with my iphone as soon as I got the new update (3.0) the phone went so much slower. I would go back but I need the copy and past feature.
