| Re: iPhone 3G vs. iPhone 3G S For anyone that is jailbroken and upgrading to the new firmware make sure you RESTORE to 3.0 and do NOT UPGRADE to 3.0.
That is if you plan to jailbreak again.

| Re: iPhone 3G vs. iPhone 3G S Okay, it about 12 hours now since i have picked up the iPhone.
I found that intergrations with Outlook 2007 rather easy. Calander and Contacts comes accross, but I am missing the Outlook Tasks. Not that I spend too much time paying attention to tasks for day to day activities. However it's nice to know when I have things like bills to pay and car rego.
I do miss the Windows Mobile Active Syc where i can sync my contacts between 2 computers. I do like syncing my Outlook between both my work and home computer. Minor set back as I can email this information to my home computer. And considering that I am with a new employeer now, I am not sure how much of my personal life i want to be currently leaving on my work station.
I do fine that the touch foil display being rather sexy.
Spent most of last night playing around with iTunes and moving music over. I am a little annoyied that if I want to convert a song into a ring tone, I need to have purchased it from iTunes.
The alarm clock feature is excellent. I normally like having a few alarms during the day, and the iPhone is pretty much allowing me to put in as many as I want. Where other phones might only allow me 3 to 5. So I can not had the weekday 7:30 - short wake up, 8:30 - wake up - 9:30 - GET THE *** OUT OF BED NOW alarms, along with my 2:55pm move car alert and 5:00 thursday night put out the rubbish. And after that, I still have space to put in more when I need a custome alarms that i might have.
Having a SSD Drive for the hard drive is nice. I remember owning a Creative Nomad and there was always that contact vibrating and clicking from the hard drive.
My other complaint at this stage is the default hearphones. They don't fit in my ears that well.
Apart from that, the other thing that did have me sold on the iPhone was that I could get Cooking Mama for iPhone. For some strange reason, I just love playing that game.

| Re: iPhone 3G vs. iPhone 3G S That's rubbish. I've seen a picture of a guy showing his discoulered iPhone case due to excessive heat and he lived in Sweden. It doesn't get to 35C+ in Sweden. |

| Re: iPhone 3G vs. iPhone 3G S Okay..... 24 hours later with me at my iPhone. Last night I was pairing it up with my car stereo so I can use the hands free. The only thing that I find a little annoying is that there is no direct button for bluetooth. Instead, I got to SETTINGS --> GENERAL --> BLUETOOTH. However with the bigger icons, I can do this a lot faster than was I can do it on a windows mobile.
And the other thing that I do like it that iPhone will give you a notification for when the device is paired. Unlike windows mobile with doesn't, and it's not until you try making / receiving a phone call while driving that you find out that your device is not paired at all.

| Re: iPhone 3G vs. iPhone 3G S I've loved my IPhone 3G, I paid out right for mine around 500$, Since I had done went through 3 pantech's in 2 months.
I'll never go with another phone! I was so hoping for Apple to release a bigger hard drive. I'm a DJ, And I liked placing all my music I bought off BeatPort on my Phone, But between music, Apps, Movies, My 16 Gig (Which after the updates and os is on there you get bout 14 Gigs). Filled fast.
Sadly I have to wait till 2010, To upgrade. Unless I wanna spend out 700$ for the IPhone GS. :/
The 3.0 Upgrade was amazing! |

| Re: iPhone 3G vs. iPhone 3G S 48 hours later with my iPhone.
One thing I need to remember is to turn off the wifi and bluetooth when I am not using it. Otherwise, if you are going to be using it as an MP3 player, you are going to find yourself running a little short on power.
Bluetooth is really nice in that i can play my music from my iPod to my car stereo. This really saves me from having to burn off another CD* every thing i have some new music.
A new pet peev that i have found it that a both 3rd party and older iPod chargers does not want to work with the iPhone 3Gs. Not sure if this is some thing to with the new OS or if this is just some thing that apple planned all along. Currently I am running a little low on power for my iPhone. Yesturday I picked up a 3rd party iPod charger. Phyisically it fits. However then I plug it in, i get an error message saying that the accesssory is not supported. When I was over at my sister's place last night, I tryied her genunie iPod Charger, only to get the same message.
* leaving orginal CDs car in my area is just another temptation for people to break into it.
