HTC Touch Messenger Live Not Working

i just bought the new HTC Touch and was pretty excited about having msn messenger on my phone. i got to say its a great little gadget. the only problem im having with it is that msn messenger simply doesn't work. it has windows mobile 6 on it.

i sign in to the messenger when i first sued the phone and it worked. my contacts were loaded and people were only and i spoke with a few of my friends. after restarting the phone for the first time (not reseting) msn messenger then refuses to work correctly. it lets me sign in, and shows all my contacts, it just wont show anyone as being online. i checked each time i tried to find a fix by going on my PC and it shows plenty of contacts online.

i tried to do a manual reset and the messenger feature worked once again, like when i first used the phone, but then after a restart, it stopped working again (just like before)

ive tried getting in contact with HTC but they say its not a problem with the phone, its the Microsoft software (Grrr!) and so far there hasn't been an update yet. not from HTC or from windows update.

all i could do was use third party IM software, but they cost money and i dont want to pay out more when i already paid £300 for something which my phone simply doesn't have.

after this post im going to send an email to Microsoft, but i doubt they'll be of any help to me.

Edit: I just looked on the microsoft website and they dont seem to have any real support for Winows Mobile 6.0 and what support they do have costs money.
