The iPod, although you could get the 160 GB iPod, which I've got. Very nice it is too.

Moved to correct area. There is a section for hand helds and other devices.

Zune , if storage isn't a problem. That's why I got the 160GB iPod , because it is the biggest around.

Why do "apple and itunes sucks"?
Just curious as to your opinion...

Personally like the ipod classics. I've had my fair share of "problems" with a iPods and iTunes. But, along the same "note" (no pun... hehehe) I've had similar issues with Creative Zen Xtras and Zune players. If you go into the market assuming that you are ultimately going to have a sour experience with your player and/or accompanying software.. then I would just go with the iPod.

Zune will probably soon become hackable. You can now install homebrew games and "apps" on them, although it is only in beta yet.

Zune are superior sound quality, and supplied with better ear buds as stock.

Best of luck,
Oreo

Zune , and I own an iPod (160GB Classic). I got the iPod because it had more space then the Zune. Obviously you need 80GB so capacity isn't an issue , then go for the Zune.
