cuz it’s confirmed that HD 5800 series is launching in APRIL 09 just after nVidia launches their 40nm GTX350. And HD5870X2 and rumoured HD5870X4 would launch two months after that.

So much for future proof video cards. To be honest though, the 4800 series have been around since June~ so it would be perfect timing to launch near April. Gives the 4800 series about a year of holding the throne.

i wouldnt say holding he throne, it is very very even right now really only the hd4870x2 is the top card. and thats about to change.

If the GTX 280 hit $300~ then Nvidia would gain back the throne. Considering it released at $700+/- its mind blowing how far Nvidia has gone to remain competitive. Would love to see more competition

Besides my first card ever was Nvidia and I would gladly buy from them in the future.
