The probability, even though it's not exactly zero, is so immeasurably small that it's not worth considering.
If a flash goes bad, it's easy to recover it.

why is everyone so adamant about their correctness? It messing with a fan. get over yourself. either way works. There are far more important things to be debating than how to control the fan on a 4850.

Probably because I make a point of being most correct, so that I give sound advice which is what being a moderator is about, providing sound advice on the forums.

I say something so basic and simple and people have a difficult time accepting what I actually Said.

It's not about 'being correct'
I just think it's silly to not use a BIOS flash based on a negligible failure probability.

Kinda like not going for a modular PSU because they have a higher probability of failure than non-modular ones (assuming everything else is the same) - when the difference is so small that it's basically nonexistent.

Its true that modular power supplies are prone to lower voltages because of the added resistence from the extra connections.

So the statement that non-modular power supplies are better than modular is true, EVEN THOUGH the difference is quite small...

Better like by half a percent if even that.

Which is a far smaller difference than you usually see just switching between two different good quality PSU's

Oh yes. But im Ultra Extreme like that, which is why I only Buy single 12V railed non Modular PSU's.
