im maxishines reveiw of the gtx280 vs the 9800gx2 the gtx280 has nearly double teh performence of the 9800gx2 in ut3 cod4 and crysis. i trust him mroe over then others as he heavily over clocks his cpu liek the most of us, and he is an end user. looks liek the gtx280 hasnt been given enough credit.
Thats pretty interesting. Turning vsynch off in UT3 woulda shown a better difference but did the trick anyway.
That's a much bigger leap over the gx2 than anything else we've seen.
I'm still doing 260 because it has 80% or better of the performance for roughly 55% of the price. For me to go crossfire 4870 i would be roughly the same amount of money out of pocket as doing the stepup without the hassle of selling my current cards and motherboard.
Looking at what Gurusan's 4850 can do has simply amazed me. I cant wait until I finish my build and I can really get her going. I think its safe to say with numbers like this that 4870x2s in crossfireX would max out any game currently shipping or in the short term future.
