yeah, also people don't have to have good crossfire boards to run them, for example a P35 or nvidia chipset.

I was talking to nosboost. And i ment 2x 4870 if he is in a rush to go spend money.

the 3870 x2 did perform better then 2 3870s in CF in i think most benchmarks. Most likely it will be same for the 4870 x2 or even better since it will have 2GB of GDDR5, perfect for high resolution gaming!

Well if we assume that Crossfire of any given card is 60% faster than one, and the X2 is supposed to be 20% than crossfired 4870's then that makes sense.

I heard it's got something to do with the fact that crossfire is done in hardware, and that it looks like a single GPU to the system.

wow the 4870x2 looks like it will be a great card. I just hope they don't put the price high. A good move would be it around $350. Which i don't think will happen.
