Default New Athlon II x3 and x2's

Athlon ii x3 435 and more - The Inquirer (from the reviews listed there, only hitech legion, firing squad, and overclockers club reviewed the new dual core 240e also)

it looks like amd now has a cpu to cover pretty much everyones needs in the lower end market. and who knows, since the x3's are supposed to be propus quads with 1 core disabled, that "acc" magic might be possible on these too.

What's up with Newegg? They don't have any of the Athlon II X3's, but other places supposedly do. If ACC does work on these, would it enable just the forth core, or would it do the L3 cache too? Maybe just the L3 cache? That would make it a VERY cheap "Phenom II 820/920?"

Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

maybe they were just a little late, idk.

im not completely sure on the ACC thing. i just mentioned it because one of the reviews( i forget which one) i read mentioned it.

but i think that if it did work, ACC would have the highest chance(but still low) of unlocking the 4th core/L3 cache on the VERY earliest chips due to supply and demand or yield issues or something. it was speculated that early propus quads were just danebs with the L3 cache disabled, so it might have been possible on some early ones. all the more recent propus quads are supposed to have no L3 cache whatsoever on the die.

these x3's are probably the quads that have no L3 cache, so if you unlock anything it might be the 4th core only. unless they were in really high demand that amd would have to take a daneb, disable the cache, and lock a core, i dont think youd be able to unlock both.
