Yea, well, what can you expect? Microsoft included TONS of upgrades for Windows XP, one of them being a VERY advanced firewall compared to the old built in one. There's something about a Bluetooth module, and etc. It's not available for me on Automatic Updates, so, I'll wait.

say... this is not part of the Window Update website... the place where the update scans you PC and automatically does the update?

or is it...
Is SP2 safe?

This is just the developers edition so its built mainly for networks and more than one computer. This is why the file is so large. Microsoft will be releasing the version available for single computers that is dial up friendly anytime now and that will be available on windowsupdate.com.

Yup, we're testing it out at our office right now. Can anyone actually get it to identify Symantec/Norton as the Virus scanner?

Personally I think they're rushing this out just like they did with XP. They get the wind that XP is becoming stale so they rush to put something out that's gonna break 10 secs after you install it on your comp.

GG Microsuck!

One note of interest for SP2. Bill Gates himself said that it was compliant even with pirated copies of XP so that these would not be the ones to spread viruses. Hmmm!

I have had this running for almost a week now and I have yet to have any problems.

I haven't founds any app that it won't work with.

It recognizes McAfee.

according to symantec, they should come with an update for 2004 around the 13th aug. They suggest to install the XP update before theirs.....
