I just got approved for a Visa Credit card! ****in A man!
Watch out, with the way I buy things I am going to start another great depression!!

Nah j/k.. I might buy things here and there to build credit, but i wont go overboard and buy random expensive things.

Whats really weird about this... I got denied over the instant approval process, but i get the email today saying a card is on its way for me

Credit Card = Debit
Debit = High Interest Rates
High Interest Rates = Bend Over
Bend Over = Grab Your Ankles
Grab Your Ankles = Take it Hard
Take It Hard = Credit Card

That's the vicious cycle of Credit Cards.

May I offer some advice. If building your Credit is your only interest in this credit card, then do the following:

Take " X " amount of Dollars and put it aside. Say, "$500" Open up a bank account just for that card. Put the "$500" in that account.
Sign-up online with the Credit Card company to pay your bill online.
Use that new Bank Account.

Go to the Store, buy yourself a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff you need with that credit card. Wait a couple of days until you can see the balance on your C/C account. Schedule the payment ASAP. PAID!

Buy more stuff, Pay it in a few days right away. PAID.
Now keep that C/C in your wallet and DO NOT USE IT, for anything more then the amount of money you actually have in that bank account. Keep refreshing that bank account... Then reuse the C/C... Continue this cycle for like "6 months".

You'll get a notice saying your Limit has increased. They are trying to get you to "Take It Hard." Don't bend over!

Continue following these instructions... Your Credit History will start to show that you have a nice track record of paying on time and paying in full and your credit line is extensive. "DO NOT GET TOO MANY Credit Cards." This is BAD. 1 or 2 Tops...

I wish I knew this info about 10 years ago... It would have saved me a TON of Credit issues and THOUSANDS of dollars...

That's all I plan on doing.

Charging like $20-$50 a month on simple items just to build up credit. When I really want to spend money I use my debit card. If I don't have it in the bank, I can't spend it. Simple as that.

The hard part will be to keep it from your greedy little paws when that cool looking "toy" comes around. I keep mine away from me (at home) and PLAN on making a purchase with them. This way I only use mine when PLAN on it... (or when the wife tells me...LOL)

Now the visa cheque card... same a a debit, but I can only charge what's in the account... That one I use for everyday use... But yea, it is kinda cool to get your first somthing... It's a milestone... kinda like your first NEW car... not some used one that you bought to get you around... I mean a BRAND new car... Just please take the advice from use old folks here...
