Default Windows Vista

I have heard a lot of people using windows vista. Is there a place where users can download the beta to test?

You have to become a Microsoft Beta tester.

Is that a version that I can download to test? Or is it invite only?

If you have a Pentium 4 or Athlon 64, yes. Otherwise, Vista will lag more than a fat hamster.

Make that "if you have" include 2 GB of RAM and a 128 MB graphics card.

Microsoft states that you need a 2GHz processor, 512MB RAM, and a 128MB graphics card.

But they will probably make a "less graphically extensive" version of Vista when it's released, so 60% of other people can use it, that don't have a top-of-the-line system.

People will say stuff when they don't do their homework

To run Vista with all features and pretty-ness turned on you will need a 1.0Ghz Processor, 256 Mb RAM, and a 64 Mb Video card.

Stop spreading rumors on the minimum requirements "to use all the features".
