Default Whats the point of two video cards?

I'm sorry if this in the wrong spot, move it if it is.

What is the point of two video cards in a computer. Can you combine the memory? Is it better than one.

Yes, if you are running more than two monitors, you would need multiple video cards.

Or, if you're gaming on a big LCD monitor with a huge resolution. Such as 1920 x 1200 or 2560 x 1600.

Or, if you're looking to break from 3DMark records.

Actually when i was looking around on newegg yesterday there are quad output video cards out there.

Because people what to have a computer set up just like what they had in Swordfish.



Actaully, some people need their desktop real estate. At work, I use 2 monitor. However there are days (especially when i am working on work's website) where I wish I had 3 monitors.

If you want best 3dmark score then you need 2 of the best graphic card..
Or multiple monitors.
But not whole lot of a point to use multiple cards.
