IMO, we should close any threads that are older than 60 days with no replies. There are no direct rules against reviving old threads, but there is a thing called forum etiquette, and this is bad etiquette.

With those threads that you linked to, they must have been on the very last page (600 pages) of all the threads in that forum. So, why would someone go to the last page and start replying? Maybe we should ask Diablo?

As for what do we do with the necroposters, I vote for the fire watch!

Dave

Depends on what the post is.

Like if it's from the OT SubForum. DEFINATLY!!!

But lets say is some of the other forums where some one did use the search option (which is some thing that is encouraged with forums), then that is not so bad.

It really comes down to whether or not the new poster had some thing contructive to post in relation to the subject that as been brought back from the dead.

If it some one that is going around thread bumping old thread for the **** of it, then take action against the user.

Like i have been know to find some 60 + day old threads that actually helped me out, and some times I do need to follow up with some other questions on that topic.

Other forums I've been on have a 90 day rule, then the thread is automatically closed. I think that would be a good idea for TF.
